Free PD for High School Biology and Middle School Life Science Teachers

This free PD on Saturday, January 25 (snow date February 1), 9-12 a.m. will be devoted to the hands-on activity, From Gene to Protein – Transcription and Translation. The registration deadline for Philadelphia teachers to be guaranteed supplies is January 13; the final registration deadline is January 22.  Additional information about the location on the University of Pennsylvania campus and a link to register for this PD are available at

Hello Biology and Life Science Teachers,

You are invited to a free PD session for high school biology teachers and middle school science teachers on Saturday, January 25 (snow date February 1), 9-12 AM. Our PD will be devoted to the hands-on activity:

From Gene to Protein – Transcription and Translation (to help students learn Keystone Bio.1.2.2, Bio.2.2 and Bio.2.3).

If you plan to attend, please register by filling out the form at For Philadelphia and Chester teachers who register by Monday, January 13 and participate in this PD, we will provide the supplies for the activity. We will also provide Act 48 credits to participating teachers.

Registration will remain open until Wednesday, January 22. If you are a teacher from Philadelphia or Chester and you register after January 13, we may be able to provide supplies, but we can’t guarantee that.

This PD session will be held in Room 115, Leidy Lab (3740 Hamilton Walk) in the Biology Department of the University of Pennsylvania. A map is available at Three-hour metered parking is available on Spruce St. and on 38th St. north of Spruce St. If you want to pay to park in one of Penn's lots or parking garages, go to and click on visitor and permit parking.
