Diving Deeper into Aquatic Macroinvertebrate ID

Diving Deeper Into Aquatic Macroinvertebrate ID

This workshop is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

When: Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Stroud Water Research Center
Cost: $5

Join our team of educators and entomologists for a brief immersion in the world of aquatic macroinvertebrates! We’ll use the newly enhanced macroinvertebrates.org website (containing 150 taxa) as our tool for engagement and understanding, and to assist you with your own identification needs or in your role as educator or trainer in aquatic insects. We’ll be diving deeper into the caddisfly order (Trichoptera) and the amazing world of the net-spinning caddisfly family (Hydropsychidae).

Time will be spent mostly in our learning laboratory working through different identification experiences, with a small portion outside to do some live collections.
