Do you want to bring climate change education to your classroom that includes local and relevant resources? Are you looking for ways make climate change connections to specific content areas? Perhaps you just want to learn more about climate science and communication. Then this three day workshop is for you! Learn how to teach students about climate change at a local level including issues such as Education for Sustainability, systems thinking, calculating carbon footprints, green infrastructure and climate change communication.

The event will include an introduction to climate change science and whole school sustainability, a screening of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Sequel, and interactive sessions led by experts in climate science and education for sustainability.

This three day interdisciplinary workshop will take place at the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Fairmount Water Works. Lunch will be provided and The National Wildlife Federation is providing $150 visa gift cards to SDP educators attending the three day workshop. Participants will also be eligible to apply for $500 mini-grant to support a climate action project at their school.
